Coldwell Banker Commercial McGuire Mears & Associates Bring New Business to Janesville
Janesville, WI–Coldwell Banker Commercial McGuire Mears & Associates is pleased to announce that Union Corrugating, an industry leader in the metal roofing industry, plans to lease a 40,000 square foot building located at 3920 Kennedy Rd in Janesville.
Union Corrugating is based out of Fayetteville, NC and serves residential, commercial, and agricultural markets with metal roofing, siding, and accessories. The company has been manufacturing and distributing products from 10 locations across eastern and central states since 1946.
This will be Union Corrugating’s first location in the upper Midwest, expanding its reach to Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. The Janesville facility will offer Union’s complete product line to customers in the upper Midwest.
“This is our 11th plant and we haven’t had a facility in the central Midwest until now, says Union Corrugating Vice President of Operations Stan Pietka. “There are a lot of opportunities here in the Midwest—we like Janesville because it is close to the Expressway, so we can head in every direction from this new location.”
“If all goes well, we hope to be running product out of this facility the week of August 15,” Pietka said.
“This Janesville initiative is in response to our customers asking us to expand our footprint to this geographic area and demonstrates first-hand our strategy of being the most convenient metal roofing supplier in the industry,” says Keith Medick, Union President and CEO.
“This space was previously occupied by Impact Confections,” says Bill Mears, Coldwell Banker Commercial McGuire Mears & Associates, listing broker for the property.
“Impact Confections was using 40,000 square feet and needed more warehousing, so they were able to move into an 80,000 square-foot building across the street from their headquarters on Whitney St that Panoramic Inc had been leasing. Because Panoramic was able to find someone to fill the space they had been occupying on Whitney, they could move into a larger 120,000 square foot building on the south side that had been vacant for some time.”
“We’ve had a shortage of that kind of square footage in the Janesville/Beloit market, so this was very fortunate timing for Union Corrugating. We were initially asked to sublet it, but we were able to put together an entirely new lease with Union Corrugating instead,” Mears said. “After it was all said and done, we saw 160,000 square feet absorbed in our market and a growing company gain much needed warehouse space right next door. We love it when it works like that!”
